Sue Thomas F.B.EYE Story part 7

I vow to be more on the ball with the continuation of this story. By the way, thank you so much for all the encouraging comments on the last part! And also, thank you Maddie for your post on G.R.I.N... I was looking in your archives and found it! So here is where we left off: (I do this as much for me as my readers, because sometimes I'm a wee bit forgetful!)

Previously on Sue Thomas F.B.EYE:
Levi instantly ran over, but sniffed disdainfully at the veggies. Wes & Judy giggled as Allie covered her smile with a cough. Jack almost doubled over with sustained laughter as Sue helped poor Stanley. "Note to self: computer talk and stir fry don't mix," Stanley managed to laugh at himself, despite the circumstances. Sue breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe the plan would work out after all...

PART 7:
Sue and Jack were just flipping channels when they heard Darcy come in. "Hey Darcy, where were you?" Sue asked, serving up some leftover ice cream dessert. Darcy set her purse down and took a bite. "Umm, yum. I am not going to think about all the calories in this. Anyways, I was shopping. Then I stopped at Minudos for an eggplant taco and came home. How did the matchmaking go?" She said laughing. Sue quirked an eyebrow in Jack's general direction, but he shrugged. "She said it, not me." "Allie and Stanley totally hit it off. They talked about computers and Russian cuisine, which I didn't even know either of them liked, and when they left they exchanged numbers!" Sue said, triumphantly biting into a chunk of Oreo. Darcy laughed as Levi woofed in agreement. Darcy was a dog lover, and Sue was helping her adopt a golden retriever from G.R.I.N, which is an establishment in Sue's hometown that stands for Golden Retrievers In Need. "Have you heard from the agency about a dog?" Sue asked, for Jack was dozing while watching the reruns of Early Editions on GMC. "Yes, actually, I forgot to tell you. They matched me! They matched me with a dog named Dancer and they sent me a picture of her. She's so cute! I called and my sister, who lives in L.A, is going to pay someone to put up a fence." Darcy beamed, as she pulled out the picture. The dog was a reddish-golden with white on her chest. Sue oohed and awed, and Levi sniffed suspiciously. Jack suddenly woke up and turned the volume on the news up.
Sue and Darcy both watched in horror as a tape of a terrorist attack played. The newscaster's voice spoke quickly and with force, "This tape is the office of the Washington Times. Just ten minutes ago, a bomb blew the entire building to ruins. Out of approximately 1,865 people inside the building, only 535 have been found, 324 of them being alive. If anyone else is in there and is alive, time is running out," Sue looked up to Jack, but he was already pulling on his coat. "I'm coming too," Darcy said, grabbing her purse. "Someone has to be here to watch the kids," Sue said. Jack just barely shook his head and signed, We can't leave her, what if they target her and the kids? I'm calling Allie and he rushed over to the telephone. "What'd he say?" Darcy said indignantly. She had been studying ASL, but was not ready to do long conversations even though she could fingerspell very well. "He said you can come. Here are the keys, I'll be right there." Sue said and rushed over to grab Levi's leash and her purse.
At the bomb site, Darcy was given clearance and they met the other members of the team there. Bobby protested at Darcy's presence, but she smiled warmly and he smiled back frostily. "What kind of bomb could blow up a building this big?" Sue asked. Bobby, being the bomb expert, answered quickly. "A Jestex bomb with as much power to blow up the white house and the capitol in one swoop. This person obviously knew what they were doing," Sue nodded an =d shivered. Tara tapped a few keys in a handheld device and nodded triumohantly. "I figured out how the bomb was set off. It was set off-" " By the jestex, Bobby just told us that," Darcy injected. Bobby turned slowly to Darcy. "When an agent is talking, you keep your yabbo shut. You may have clearance, but stay quiet so we can do our jobs," Bobby said. Tara raised an eyebrow and continued, "This bomb was no accident. This has a signature mark as being a bomb that Arif Dessa uses. But why here?" The team nodded and Darcy gasped. "I was here. Before I went to Minudos. I wanted to talk to a coworker, and they must have had people watching me. I went in the front, but since there are side and back exits, I decided to take those in case someone actually was following me. Turns out they thought I was still in there. But why me? I'm working on a drug case, not terrorism!"
TO BE CONTINUED!
Will Bobby ever calm down? Why did Dessa try to blow Darcy up? Is there anymore survivors? Will Jack and Sue be able to handle the next house guest, who is someone they once investigated?

Sue Thomas FBEYE short story part 6

Whoa, so sorry for anyone who was looking forward to this... I got a little sidetracked with other posts! But, to refresh your memory from over a MONTH ago (yikes!), here is the last little bit from part 5: (also, I originally paired Allie with David, but since I wrote a short story where he was the bad guy, it just didn't feel right to me! Gabrielle, you know why! I may post that story to, but for now just take what ya get! LOL)

"What the..." Bobby's sentence trailed off. Tara's laptop had a blue screen and was flashing random numbers. Finally, it shut down with a plink! and Tara's head dropped on Bobby's shoulder. Bobby jumped up as D strolled into the bullpen. "D, Tara's computer has a virus. I think it may have something to do with Arif Dessa."

PART 6:

The doorbell rang and Sue opened it to find Stanley. "Stanley! Hi! Nice to see you again!" She said. She welcomed him in and called to the children, "Wes! Judy! Come and greet our guest!" The kids came running and slid to a stop. "Nice to meet you," Wes said, shaking his hand solemly. Judy, the ever irrepressible, asked him, "Whatdya bring me?" Sue gasped. "Please tell me I didn't read that right!" Stanley laughed and pulled a lollipop out of his pocket. She squealed and went off to bounce on her bed, delighting in her newfound friend. "You know that practically means you're engaged, right?" Jack laughed, coming downstairs. He and Stanley shook hands just as the doorbell rang. Sue's eyes twinkled and Jack shook his head. She opened the door and greeted Allie. "Allie! Hi, just in time! Dinner is just about ready. Oh, Stanley, this is Allie. I completely forgot that we were gonna have dinner with Allie. I hope we have enough. Jack dear, come help me set the table," Sue said, pulling Jack into the kitchen.

He raised an eyebrow at her and she chuckled. "What?" She asked with exagerated innocence. He kissed her on the forehead and walked to the dining room, whistling. "Nothing honey." At that moment, Stanley and Allie walked in, talking a mile a minute. "So you like the book Computer Diagnostics For Nerds? That's my favorite book!" Allie exclaimed. Whenever Tara was unavailable, Sue always called Allie when she had a computer question. "Really? Have you read the chapter on defragging a faulty harddrive? Whoever wrote that chapter should be uplifted by the computer gods," Stanley exclaimed, accidentally flipping his plate in the air and spilling the entire plate of chicken stirfry onto the floor. Levi instantly ran over, but sniffed disdainfully at the veggies. Wes & Judy giggled as Allie covered her smile with a cough. Jack almost doubled over with sustained laughter as Sue helped poor Stanley. "Note to self: computer talk and stirfry don't mix," Stanley managed to laugh at himself, despite the circumstances. Sue breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe the plan would work out after all...

Ok, tell me if I should continue! Also, should I bring back Jonathan?

Sue Thomas FBEYE short story part 4

Okay, sorry I didn't post yesterday! It was kinda crazy, but this part will be extra long and extra good! In this part, I will be doing some flashbacks! (Anything in italics will be a flashbackand anything in bold italics will be a thought)Yay!

Part 4:
Sue woke up and smiled at Jack's tousled hair. She tiptoed down the hall to the childrens' rooms and peered in at the sleeping twins. Judy, like jack, slept all over the bed while Wes, like Sue, stayed curled up in one position. As she walked back to her bed room to get dressed, she thought back to how Jack proposed.

Sue walked into the bullpen the day after her "Going Away/Coming Back" party and smiled fondly at the familiar scene. Jack looked up at her, watching her pour her usual cup of hot chocolate in her favorite blue mug. It's now or never, Jack... tell her now! Jack thought. Sue watched him walk out of the bullpen with his characteristic determined stride. He walked into D's new office and sat down. "Jack, what can I help you with?" D said, shuffling papers on his desk. "I need you to use you supervisor powers to appeal a policy." Jack blurted out. D nodded knowingly. "I assume the policy you're referring to is the relationship policy?" Jack nodded and D thoughtfully strummed his fingers on his desk. "I can't do that." Jack sighed and slammed his hand on the wall. "D, I love Sue and either the policy is appealed or I quit," Jack finished. D nodded and turned a grin up to Jack. "I can't do that because I already did it. The paperwork is being finalized." Jack's smile grew wider as he shook D's hand and raced out the door. Jack told Sue and she smiled so big it lightened up the bullpen. After dating for a modest amount of time (3 months, and they were the longest 3 months Jack had ever lived through) Jack took Sue to a deaf poetry reading (Jack's least favorite thing to do, but he knew Sue loved it) Then, to Sue's surprise, he leapt onto the stage during a break in readers and spoke and signed, "Sue, I love you with all my heart. Won't you please marry me?" Sue was flabbergasted and, to the accompanied by the clapping of the poets, she walked up to the stage and accepted.

Sue smiled as she whipped up some scrambled eggs. Judy and Wes came in the kitchen sleepily clutching their matching stuffed kangaroos (a birthday gift from Uncle Bobby and Aunt Tara). "Good morning Mommy! Is breakfast ready?" Judy asked. Wes simply rested his head on Levi's back and promptly fell back asleep. Sue walked over and picked him up again. "Oh no, none of that. Aunt Allie doesn't like when you sleep in because you are hyper!" Sue remembered when Allie came to visit her one day.
Sue looked up from her novel as Levi nudged her and ran to the door. Lucy was at the gym, so Sue rose and answered it. She was shocked to find Allie, Jack's friend, standing at the door. "Hi, is this a bad time?" Allie asked. Sue shook her head and escorted her in. "I'm sorry for just showing up like this, but I think we need to talk." Sue nodded and sat down. " I've known Jack for, gosh, twenty years. So I think I know him very well. After getting to know you, I realize that you two are perfect for eachother and what kind of friend would I be to either of you if I stood in the way of that?" Sue sat up straighter and Allie grinned knowingly. "Don't start with the whole 'we're just friends' bit because I am a hopeless romantic. I have eyes and I see the obvious chemistry between you two!" Allie said, smiling at Sue. Sue reached over and hugged Allie. "You are such a good friend." Sue remarked.

"Honey, have you seen my tie?" Jack asked, rushing into the kitchen. Sue shook her head and kissed his forhead. "Nope, but you might try the closet!" Sue remarked, dashing about to ready the kids. She then stood bolt upright and yelled, "UREKA!" Jack and the kids came running and Jack asked her what was wrong. "I know who we can set Allie up with! Stanley!" Jack's jaw dropped as Sue dashed to the study. Ruffling through some old bills and 302 home reports, she found a piece of paper with a phone number. She quickly dialed and started talking rapidly. "Stanley? Hi, it's Sue Thomas." She waited while his response appeared on the phone. Sue! I remember you all! How are you and Jack? "Good. I was wondering if you would like to have dinner with us. How about thursday? Great! Bye," Sue hung up and turned to look at Jack, who had a raised eyebrow. "What? They're perfect for eachother and they just need a little nudge!" Sue protested, hurrying off to gather coats for the twins. It has got to be a woman thing Jack thought as he coralled the twins out the garage and into the van to go to Aunt Allie's house.

Part 5 coming soon!
Will Allie like Stanley? Will Bobby quit his hosility to Darcy? Will They catch Arif Dessa?
Find out soon!

PLOT SYNOPSIS:

When rumpled Darcy D'Angelo shows up unexpectedly at the Hudsons' house, the whole team rallies together. Bobby struggled with sad feelings (from their breakup) and Tara's computer is hacked. It turns out that the case Darcy was writing about is bigger then a drug scandal; it involves a sleeper cell and an infamous terrorist. Oh, and did I mention, he knows where Jack & Sue live? Stay tuned for part 1 of my story: To Catch a Prince! (Rated G)

SUE QUOTE:

Myles: (Speaking of a serial killer's case) I must admit, these cases intrigue me.

Lucy: Every one's gotta have a hobby! (Smirks)
